Title : Nutrition in infants with milk protein allergy.
Abstract:
Cow’s milk protein allergy is a common cause of food allergies in early childhood, with symptoms ranging from immediate to delayed reactions. The primary treatment is avoiding exposure to the allergen, with breast milk being suitable for most infants. This case presents a two-year-old patient who developed severe gastrointestinal symptoms, including abdominal distension and dehydration, after consuming fortified powdered milk. Various feeding strategies were tested, leading to clinical improvement. In cases of gastrointestinal distress and nutritional impairment following dairy formula introduction, cow’s milk protein allergy should be suspected and addressed promptly.
