Biography:
Dr. Dorado studied Chemistry at the University of Texas at El Paso. She began her scientific career as a postdoctoral research associate for the United States Department of Agriculture-Agricultural Research Service in the Sustainable Biofuels and Co-Products Research Unit in Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania researching pyrolysis of switchgrass and agricultural plastics to produce bio-based fuels and chemicals. Dr. Dorado is currently a lead scientist and research chemist for the Citrus and Other Subtropical Products Research Unit in Fort Pierce, Florida researching valorization of citrus juice processing waste streams. Dr. Dorado has over 12 years of experience in biomass valorization methods including hydrothermal, thermochemical, high pressure and catalytic processes.
