Biography:
Suparna Bhattacharya earned her Ph.D. in applied economics from the University of Nebraska Lincoln, USA. She is a NextEra Resource Fellow, USA, awarded for her accomplishments in the field of energy markets, and published research articles in peer-reviewed economic journals. Her research interests include agricultural trade policies, regulatory policy impact on energy/water markets, food deserts and interdependence of bio-fuels and food supply. She has developed econometric models to analyze the effects of limited accessibility to healthy food on people's health outcomes. Dr. Bhattacharya has been an Economist for the Oregon Public Utility Commission and California Water Service Groups, USA.
