Biography:

Dr. Nishant Kumar, working as Assistant Professor in Amity Food and Agriculture Foundation, Amity University, Noida, India. He has research experience on synthesis and production of biopolymers from different plant-based sources, food processing and management, development of nano formulations, edible coating, and postharvest management, etc. He has more than 4 years of research experience in this field as a Research Associate, Project Fellow, and Knowledge Management Officer. In addition, he also has 2.5 years of experience in the food processing industry. He did a Ph.D. from the National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management, Kundli, Sonepat (Haryana). During his Ph.D. he worked on different types of biopolymers, nano sensing, active agents to develop the edible coating, bio composite, nanocomposite, and their application for shelf-life extension of different fruits and vegetables. In addition, the structural, biocompatible, and antioxidant potential of natural plant extract and essential oils as alternatives to chemical fungicides were also studied. He has published more than 70 Research / review articles in highly reputed journals and has published 1 book, 20+ book chapters in various books, and has been granted patents. He is also serving as an editor for more than 15+ journals, and he is also reviewer of more than 50 scientific journals published by Elsevier, Springer, Wiley, Taylor & Francis, MDPI, Hindawi, Frontiers and other journals. Dr. Kumar also reviews book proposals for various publishers. His significant contribution to scientific research can be reflected in his achievement by listed highly Cited Researcher (World's Top 2% Scientists - 2025) by Elsevier/ Stanford University.
