Biography:
Dr. Lisebo Mothepu is a dedicated academic, researcher, and Food Science and Nutrition Lecturer in the Department of Consumer Science: Food and Nutrition at Durban University of Technology (DUT). She holds a PhD and Master's degree in Food and Nutrition from DUT. With over a decade of higher education experience, she specialises in sustainable agriculture, food security, food sovereignty, community empowerment, and nutrition-sensitive agriculture. Her work spans teaching, curriculum transformation, and community-engaged research, focusing on decolonising food science and reinforcing indigenous African food knowledge systems. Through the Teaching Advancement at Universities (TAU) programme, she champions innovative pedagogy and student empowerment to address real-world community challenges.
