Abstract:
Food Science and Technology plays a vital role in addressing global challenges related to food security, nutrition, and sustainable food production. The increasing demand for safe, nutritious, and high-quality food products has encouraged the development of innovative processing and preservation technologies. This study reviews recent advancements in food processing techniques, including high-pressure processing, pulsed electric fields, and intelligent packaging systems, and their impact on food quality and safety. These technologies help preserve nutritional value, extend shelf life, and reduce microbial contamination while minimizing the use of chemical preservatives.
In addition, sustainable food production practices such as waste valorization and resource-efficient processing are gaining importance in the food industry.
