Macide Burcu Timur

Biography:

Macide Burcu Timur (Ph.D.) is a researcher specialized in plant genetics and molecular biology, with experience as a principal investigator, coordinator, and researcher in national and international R&D projects. She completed her PhD at Mersin University with a focus on Botany and Molecular Genetics, and holds extensive expertise in molecular marker development, PCR, genotyping, and marker-assisted selection (MAS). Currently at Beta Gıda R&D Center, her work encompasses the valorization of tea and coffee by-products into value-added products, the development of functional beverage formulations, and — by approaching tea and coffee as botanical species — forward-looking research on the future of these plants to ensure raw material continuity and standardization in the face of global climate change.
